If you don't think that the oil companies aren't friendly with opec then you are just being naive. For one, bush's family is friendly with the Bin Laden family:

The oil companies don't give a rat's @ss what the price of oil is because they not only pass the costs along to the consumer's, but they also increase their cuts with both a higher yield (same percentage times a higher price means more profit) but they also jump up immediately and go down slowly. So, your argument that opec isn't their friend is BS. To tell the truth, I wouldn't be surprised if they aren't asking opec to do it since their profits increase when production is cut!

And...FYI, I don't automatically blame bush for everything, just the things that he's caused or has had a hand in. ;)
