There are two ways that we can avoid having terrorist attacks in this country....kill all of the terrorists and all of their supporters or live in a world where people don't feel driven and beaten down to the point where they can either fight back any way they can (read terrorism) or die. I'd rather live in a just world than one where the strongest (read biggest @ssholes) get the richest.

I see this as similar to the differences between managers who manage through fear and others who manage by getting people motivated by feeling ownership of the product. The latter is much harder to accomplish but much more rewarding and substainable for all involved but require real skill.

This was just marginally a 'religious based' conflict until bush started turning it into a holy war of 'good' against 'evil', which many thought was a huge mistake at the time and will probably prove to be the biggest idiocy of his presidency in terms of long-term impact (though there certainly is alot of that!).
