They weren't giving in to terrorist demands. If you think backwards like Bush I suppose it could be seen that way. It was a campaign promise from this guy that he was going to remove the troops unless the UN took over. He's been saying this since those troops arrived in Iraq. If anything, the train bombing helped to get him elected, but at the same time it had nothing to do with his decision to remove the troops which had already been made months ago.

If you listen to bush, though, he'll say that Spain pulled out it's troops because of the train attack. That's wrong and the same kinds of backwards arguments Bush has been making for a year.

Nobody let anything happen, Reb. The people VOTE for who they want and if their decision is influenced by the train attack, so be it. It's a democracy and the PEOPLE make the decision on who leads the Country. The way you say it, it sounds like they should have just IGNORED the votes of the people and just kept the old PM in office. That's a very un-american thing to say.....well, maybe not these days.
