So you don't care at all that Bush (perhaps it was Cheney?) misappropriated $700 mil. from the Afghanistan Appropriations Bill, (supposed to be for fighting the Taliban and Al Qaeda. You remember them - The ones that actually made 9/11 happen - not Iraq) for use in preparations for Iraq (An unjustified and completely ill conceived plan).

And if that doesn't bother you then the fact that Cheney and Rumsfeld are showing war plans to Saudi Arabia before the Secretary of State even knows there is a war plan for Iraq should have you pissed as hell. I'm pissed and it's not even my country.

For anyone interested in some background on the current fighting with the Sunni tribes (and perhaps some insight on why they are fighting), then I strongly urge you to try to find a way to watch a documentary called "Saddams Revenge" that aired on CBC's Passionate Eye last night. Don't make the mistake in thinking that the current Sunni fighting has anything at all to do with loyalism to Saddam...It doesn't. It has everything to do with the extremely high level of frustration of the Iraqi people right now after a year of war and waiting for the Americans to piece their country back together. Immediately after Saddam fell, one of the Sunni tribal leaders said "Then we will work with the Americans to get the country back together." And that was the attitude of many if not all of them. Well, after a year and still no progress, they are tired of waiting for the US to fix the country(obviously they are not fixing anything). They want to do it for themselves. It should also be noted that the fighting with the Sunni's began after an American bomb was dropped on a mosque full of worshippers. And also that the American forces promised the local leaders they wouldn't enter the town. They are quite capable of running their own towns (Fallujah in particular). Something that should also be considered (and this is a big cultural difference, something the American troops were not trained in at all (cultural differences that is), the Sunni have a very long tradition of revenge killing. The revenge can be carried over to coming generations if it was never avenged in the time of the killing. So picture this. Americans drop a bomb on a mosque killing innocent people. The Sunni relatives now want revenge, meaning eye for an eye so they start to attack american forces, only thing is , more Sunni's get killed...leads to more revenge killings, and so on and so on.

Remember how you were supposed to be liberating the Iraqi people? I bet they didn't think you meant liberate them from their life on earth.

What I find most deplorable about this is that all the contracts that went to Haliburton (virtually every one) should have gone to the Iraqi people to rebuild there own damn country. It would have given them jobs, something to do and renew pride in their country making them less likely to start to fight occupation forces out of frustration and disgust. And guarenteed things would actually be getting done. That would have been the best first step in rebuilding Iraq.
